Risk Disclosure
Last updated 1 November 2026
Trading forex, CFDs, multipliers, options and synthetic indices is high-risk. You can lose all the money in your trading account. Only trade with money you can afford to lose, and make sure you understand how the products you trade work.
Leverage and multipliers
Leverage and multipliers magnify both gains and losses. A small price move against you can produce a large loss relative to your stake, and fast markets can move past a stop-loss before it is filled.
Automated trading
- Bots and scripts follow rules without judgement. They can keep trading in conditions they were never designed for.
- Software, internet connections, brokers, TradingView, hosting and your MetaTrader 5 terminal can fail, be delayed or behave unexpectedly, causing missed, duplicated or unintended orders.
- A mistake in a script or a setting can place orders you didn't intend. Test changes on a demo account first.
Backtests are not predictions
Backtests and Strategy Lab results are simulations on past data. They cannot fully account for spreads, slippage, fees, liquidity or changing market behaviour, and results tuned on past data often fade in live trading. No strategy, built-in or your own, is guaranteed to make money. Claims of guaranteed returns are a warning sign.
Synthetic indices
Deriv's synthetic indices (such as Volatility indices) are generated by the broker and are not real-world markets. Their behaviour is designed to be random; past patterns may not repeat.
Risk limits help, but don't eliminate risk
Risk Guard limits (risk per trade, daily loss limit, drawdown limit and kill switch) reduce some risks but can't prevent losses from gaps, slippage, outages or orders already placed. Keep an eye on your accounts.
No advice
binaryTrades is a software tool. Nothing on this site is investment, financial, legal or tax advice, or a recommendation to trade any product. Consider getting independent advice. Trading may be restricted in your country; it is your responsibility to follow local law.
